Happy Christmas, friends!

I got a fantastic Magids fic for Yuletide! And books and t-shirts and workout equipment and candy and coffee for Christmas!

Also, I made M. a Doctor Who scarf (my sister-in-law made the Tardis cross-stitch in the photo), which is finally finished! Well, it still needs a fringe, but the body of the scarf is done.

I got to see both my parents and Brad and Janet and Cute Nephew last night, but it was overwhelming because there were ~10 members of Janet's extended family there, too, and also two babies, and their house isn't really big enough for all that. "Breakfast for dinner" as a holiday meal is brilliant, except it meant our hosts were cooking for two hours while the rest of us drank and made awkward conversation. Mostly it was good though.

Today I need to do some boring household stuff, but also M. and I have big plans to watch ALL the Doctor Who Christmas specials.

Today I learned that Miriam has a sword that lives in her pocket at work.

She periodically pulls it out and brandishes it, and occasionally pokes people with it.

It's a Playmobil sword that was found at the store, but she only told me that part after telling a story that included, "So then I got out my sword and poked him."

It's Christmas Eve, and I've staved off another bout of Tuesday Fail (which threatened, even though it's Friday) and gotten most of what I need done, done!

HOWEVER, between work and travel, I will pretty much be away from teh internet -- excepting facebook -- until January 1 (unless my trip north is a lot less fun than I anticipate). Though I will try very very hard to find time to at least read my Yuletide story late on Christmas day or early on the 26th.

First, kitty_ryan  wrote me a fantastic Doctor Who fic, related to "The Girl in the Fireplace," La Belle en Vous Aimant. Reinette watches as Rose forgets to turn left. I've flailed like crazy about it on her LJ, and in a comment on the story itself, but I haven't yet recced it here. So. It's lovely; go read it.

Second, I've archived something like 15 recent stories at both Archive of Our Own and The King's Own (except for the one that wasn't Tamora Pierce fic; that one's only at A03), including various birthday fics for various people, and all my Peculiar Pairings entries. I also have one story and a couple of drabbles that have ribbons at TKO, because they placed in Piercefic and the Goldenlake Drabble Tournament!
