Well, then. I've found my SMACKDOWN OTP OT4.
This is supposedly Couples SMACKDOWN, so while the thought of nominating multipartner groupings definitely occurred to me, I didn't do it. And then it turns out Daja/Sandry/Tris/Briar is the first wildcard team.
treanz , you are my hero right now (unless
journeycat can take credit for this one, in which case she's my hero instead), and still very evil and very genius.
I really only ship Sandry/Daja in a romantic sense. But friend-shipping fic also counts for SMACKDOWN, and I'm entirely convinced the four of them are and will remain the most important people in each others' lives. Anyway, I've written foursome circle-cest; I'm sure I can and will do it again -- meaning I'm already thinking of at least two major storylines, each of which can spawn innumerable ficlets around a central theme or in a given chronology.
If I'm lucky, I'll be so consumed by writing for this grouping that I won't want to write for anything else -- in which case there will be fights I don't write for at all, allowing me to maintain some sort of life-fanfic balance throughout the spring.
If I'm unlucky.... at least it's a change from the 40,000 words of Kel/whoever ship!fic I wrote last year?
DUDE, two things just occurred to me:
1. In the fanfic world, I rarely feel a disconnect when I'm concurrently writing the same character(s) in two conflicting universes/storylines. Well, one of the stressful things about writing for NaNoWriMo last year was having to Decide which path I was taking -- when Olivia would confess her Big Secret; whether Anna would fall for Olivia or remain oblivious. But... there's nothing wrong with writing both, right? If/when I decide to write original fiction again, I should just let it happen if I get two contradictory inspirations, and then sort it out if I ever decide to try selling the thing. Obvious solution is obvious.
2. 40,000 words of SMACKDOWN fic; 50,000 word NaNo novel. That means I wrote another 50,000 words of fiction in bits and pieces over the rest of the year. That's a lot of short stories. (I know I already talked about this a while ago; I lost sight of it, and now it's surprising me all over again.) No wonder I wore myself out by the end of the year; the wonder is that I'm getting all inspired again already!
