Help with tables?

Anybody have insight on how to get visible borders onto a table in an LJ entry? Links to templates, or anything? I can't seem to make it work! I just get a list of text with no lines between cells, like in this entry (in which two lines of a table, five cells each, are filled). Admittedly, it's been a while since I did html from scratch, but to me the code looks like it should work. I'm stuck! Please help?

I just pasted your table code into my LJ interface to test it, and the tables showed up. Maybe it's just a quirk of your particular page template?

You could try giving your table cells a light background color, which should create a white border between them.

Ok, I didn't think of that! But yeah, that's definitely the source of the problem, and it bothers me not-quite-enough to change my theme. It seems to be a feature (or bug?) common to quite a few LJ themes, though -- I just tested 10 or so, and about half had the no-lines issue. Weird.
